Pharmacy Technician
The College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah, Kogi State, offers a Diploma program in Pharmacy Technician. This program equips students with the knowledge and skills to assist pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in pharmaceutical care delivery.
This Notable department was created in 2016 and it has been magnificent in training highly skilled and intellectually capable Technicians of the pharmacy profession. All thanks to the efforts of the Professional Pharmacists in collaboration with other non professional staff of the department who uphold the tenets, ethics and etiquettes that guides the profession.
The students of this department are subjected to intense, meticulous and scrupulous training.......... This is even more evident in their character and mode of conducts....... Disciplined, with a lot of respect to constituted authorities especially their professional tutors.
They are trained to support pharmacists in dispensing medications, stocking shelves, labelling prescriptions, processing orders and performing basic administrative duties. The Pharmacy Technician is a skilled assistant trained to ensure smooth operations and accurate support under the supervision of a pharmacist(Pharm. Bello Musa 2025).
Their MCQ exam is one of the things that endears them to the heart that seek highly precise intelligence........ Students studying for this exams can go almost 18/24 hours of the day in preparation. I got to understand that, you either know the correct answer or you don't as guessing is an abomination........ If out of a hundred questions, you chose 50 correct answers and 50 wrong answers, your score will be 50-(0.5×50)/100 making it 25/100. And it's amazing to note that students of this noble college strive to get 70, 80 and sometimes 90 odd in this tactical exams......... No wonder, on average, they are always scoring A for each set(class mark) in their council exams. It is indeed, a honorable profession.
