A Proud Local Champion

I don't mind being a local champion
It's true I'm not posh, I don't deny not being "classy" (in your opinion) but for sure, I am not crassly. It's true I'm not fresh like those who wears designers. I don't feign big achievements, it's true I can't afford so many things for now. Yeah I know my mates who are much more ahead of me in life, but hey life is not a competition between me and you, we all move at our own respective pace.
Just because I speak against ills and vices in our society, you think and say I'm a local champion? I don't drag travelling to many places with you, and yes travelling is part of education, so also is being well read.
And I checked the meaning of being a local champion and was rather not displeased to know it describes a person who is highly respected, admired, and successful in his/her local circle. He/she is seen by many as a leader, as an icon, even as an emulatable role model who has achievements and contributions to his/her local community.
I'm a local champion, cause I'm not yet a global phenomenon, but the journey of a thousand miles, begins, first with a proper plan, focus and determination, even before the step. Perhaps, this local circle and methodology will one day expand to one day, become a global paradigm. Maybe then and there, you will acknowledge the international spectacle and say; He is a global champion.
And you think civilization is denying your roots and values, looking at your culture with disdain, importing foreign habits that are known-not to the land? It's fine for cultures and values to evolve, but it's bad when this evolution is negative.
We must be proud of where we come from, proud of what we believe and represent (making sure it's not evil or harmful), shame on the man who points to his father's house with his left hand, not because it's evil or bad, but because of inferiority complex. Nobody believes you, where you come from, or what you represent, if you don't believe yourself. The global ideas/concepts you celebrate today, began with a person/small circle, at that stage, it was still local.
Change is constant, it definitely occurs either slowly or rapidly, naturally or artificially stimulated, whichever course it takes, the onus is on you to channel and direct it, either positively. Or negatively. A word they say, is enough for a Wise.
