Marriage Is a Human Instinct
Islamic shari'ah has opposed monasticism, which conflicts with man's instinct, and contradicts his inclinations, desires, and motivations. Likewise, Islamic shari'ah prohibited the Muslims to abstain from marriage or renounce it, intending to live as a monastic and to devote oneself to worship. Al Bukhari and Muslim related that Anas(M.A.B.P.W.H) said; three people came to the house of the prophet's (peace be upon him) wives to inquire about his manner of worship. When they were told, they seem to have deemed it little. So, they said; how come we compare ourselves with the prophet (peace be upon him) as his past and future misfeeds have been forgiven. Then one of them said I will perform prayer throughout the night forever, the other said; I will fast throughout the year and we never break my fast, the third said; I will keep away from women and will not marry forever. So Allah's messenger came to them and said: Are you the people who said so and so? By Allah, I am the most submissive to Allah and most afraid of him among you: yet I fast and break my fast, I pray and sleep, and I marry women. So, he who does not follow my tradition in religion, is not one of my followers.
So, it is clear that marriage is seen by Islam as a human Instinct that makes man's desires and inclinations materialize and conform to the nature of life.
