These individuals undergo specialized training, obtaining either a diploma after three years of study or a certificate after two years, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to safeguard public health.


The academic curriculum for food hygiene professionals typically covers a range of topics, including: Food safety principles and practices, Microbiology and foodborne pathogens,  Food handling and preparation techniques, Food laws and regulations, Quality control and assurance


The Food hygiene professionals are crucial in preventing foodborne illnesses, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, conducting inspections and audits, providing education and training to food handlers, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to investigate foodborne outbreaks.


The work of food hygiene professionals has a significant impact on protecting public health and preventing illnesses, maintaining consumer confidence in the food industry, supporting economic development through safe food production and trade,and promoting good food handling practices.
